Jabe Mabrey found his calling in college after speaking with a mentor. The advice “Do what you know and love” resonated so powerfully with Jabe that on the same day, he changed his major from oral surgery to Fashion Design. His passion stems from the sewing techniques he learned at age 5 from his grandmother.
While working as a graphic designer, Jabe studied fashion at the Atlanta College of Art. After completing his studies, he was hired as an assistant to a fashion designer who later opened retail stores and promoted Jabe to Manager of Retail Operations. In this role, Jabe’s sole focus was merchandising and personal shopping. Through this position, Jabe began attending trade shows and experienced the buying side of the business. This led him to begin styling.
As a stylist, Jabe has worked with some of the best photographers on various projects ranging from print and tv advertising to music videos. His client’s range from organizations, such as The Arthritis Foundation, to Jezebel and InStyle magazines, as well as department stores including Macy’s and Bloomingdales.
“What I do is what I love most…making people feel pretty with themselves in their own skin, therefore being comfortable in their second skin, their clothes. After all, they are only clothes…so wear them…don’t let them wear you!” -Jabe Mabrey
Jabe’s Clients Include: Spanx, The Arthritis Foundation, Belk, Federated Stores (Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s), Tanger Outlets, Goody Hair Products, Newell Rubbermaid, Atlanta Magazine, The Atlantan, Tuxedo Road, Jezebel, Interview, InStyle and WWD.
